Check the switch located on the driver-side of the top frame. That switch is tripped when the top is fully closed to prevent the top motor from running when it has no work to do. Those have been known to fail. You can also check your brake light switch, which can cause top problems. - Derek. Now that the car is here and the weather is nice I decided to pull the red tab in the boot/trunk and use the car until I get time to repair the roof motor. So the tray thing in the boot is down(no obstructions), switch bypassed, red tab pulled and turned so it stays out. Unlatched the roof from button and pushed roof back from the middle. My mates e89 roof isn't closing ,and we are due on a meet today. Does anyone know any (quick) fixes to how the roof can be closed manually on an e89??
